Wendy has been working with us at Woodside Grange for over 9 years. She enjoys the fact that every member of the staff strives to give as much independence as possible to all of our residents.
She enjoys working with the elderly very much and Wendy makes this very obvious with her commitment to her job and relationship with the residents that she cares for.
She has felt comfortable and happy working at Woodside Grange for such a length of time as a result of the support from our staff, the providing and encouraging of development in her career with regards to training and the general atmosphere of the work environment.
While working at Woodside Grange Wendy has attended many training courses with regards to care for the elderly and has gained the following qualifications:
- Diploma in Health and Social care
- NVQ Level 3 in care
- Two courses on ‘Enablement and Communication’
- Home Management and Family Care
Wendy has attended numerous courses for education in the field which include health and safety in the care home, numerous courses on care for residents suffering from dementia, enabling the everyday lives of our residents, medicines for the elderly, food hygiene, moving and handling of the residents with limited capacity of movement and fire safety.
Wendy’s philosophy with regards to caring for the elderly is very simple and effective. She believes that the individual should be treated with respect and dignity and made to feel at home.
Wendy also enjoys talking to and getting to know each individual person and finds listening to stories about their life very interesting.
Wendy would like to further her training and qualifications all the time and is always looking into any chance she can get to do so.
